Celebrating 55 Years!
Updated: Oct 13, 2019
Our 55th Class Reunion was a great success. Thank you so much to everyone who was able to join us.
The reunion kicked off with a social at the VFW on Friday night. We closed the place down with lots of conversation, catching up, and telling stories of our high school days late into the evening. Several of the guys met for half a round of golf Saturday morning. Everyone had a great time (maybe because no one was keeping score).
Our official reunion gathering took place Saturday night at Mona's Firepit Bar and Grill. We had dinner and then our class president, Tony Wengert, gave a welcome speech and read a letter from Ferdinand Baena, our foreign exchange student, who lives in the Phillipines. Ferdinand sent Filipino snacks and trinkets, which were raffled off to attendees.
“We have been gathering from all corners of the country every five years since graduation. It is always so much fun reminiscing about our time at Oelwein Community High School and staying up to date on what happens in each other's lives. I hope to gather again in five more years.” -Tony Wengert, Class President
Details of the next reunion will be posted here. Stay tuned!
